It’s theatrical, it’s immersive, it’s atmospheric. It is a story unravelling. Your adventure begins when you meet a quirky character on arrival, you will then have 60 minutes to complete the challenges, play the games, solve the puzzles and ultimately reveal the end of the story.
Along the way you’ll discover places you’ve never seen before, full of authentic props and set design as well as creative special effects like smoke, lights, sounds and smells.
For your comfort, the HOUNDS venue features a licensed bar and trendy seating area for players to have tea, coffee or something stronger on arrival and they are welcome to stay in the bar after their game, relax and have a chat with the Games Master.
I was lucky enough to be invited to try out their Debut game “Questionable Ethics”, having never done an Escape Room experience before, I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
I was greeted by Julie, and a beautifully decorated “mini bar” which had a real Parlour feel.
I can’t give too much away on the game itself but I will say that it is completely immersive, right from the off. My group needed a little bit of help with some of the puzzles and your host is on hand to assist you with clues… Or just complimenting you on your dancing skills… (I totally forgot we were being watched 😂)
But what about the minds behind it all? Meet Brian, Julie and David (The Goodman family).
“We’re a little family of creative minds that one day decided if we put them all together, we could make something brilliant. So we did just that. We’ve all run businesses before, but nothing like this”
Why did you decide that Escape Games were your future?
Escape Games are quickly becoming a new phenomenon, surpassing other leisure activities like cinemas and bowling alleys in terms of popularity and has an enormous community of followers and enthusiasts Escape games are weird, wacky and wonderful and most definitely just what Crawley needed. In light of the current closures of leisure activities within Crawley, we strive to be a glimmer of hope and bring a little fun and escapism to our clients. With experience both playing and running Escape games before, the natural next step was to design and build them!”
Whether it’s a bit of fun with a few mates or a team building exercise, I cannot recommend Hounds Escape Room enough! I cannot wait to see what’s to come!
