Work has started on the new children’s play area at Tilgate Park.
The new play area, which will open in spring 2021, will boast lots of new equipment while retaining the basket/cantilever swing and a set of swings. The design will be as inclusive as possible with accessibility in mind.
Most of the current equipment started to be removed last week and will be followed by the preparation of the area for new play equipment to be installed over the winter.
Crawley Borough Council is reinvesting income from within Tilgate Park to create the new play area.
Councillor Chris Mullins, Cabinet member for Wellbeing at Crawley Borough Council, said: “The play area in Tilgate Park is one of our most popular and the new equipment will give children something different to enjoy.
“We’ll also look to keep enhancing the play area in the coming years with the extra income generated in Tilgate Park in the future.”
